Community InfoLearning2Bonsai is part of the BonsaiOutlet.com network and is made of thousands of gardeners who share a love for bonsai. As much as we would prefer not to, we have to post rules and guidelines in case someone abuses the community. But our rules can be summarized in a few bullets.
- Be nice. There is a real person behind each username.
- Harassing, insulting or abusing other members is unacceptable.
- Don’t share your private information (e.g., email, phone numbers, etc.).
- Bonsai Outlet LLC is NOT responsible for the content posted by community members.
- Learning2Bonsai reserves the right to remove comments. It’s our community; build your own if you want different rules!
Learning2Bonsai’s role is to facilitate open discussion and support our community through constructive communication. We’re sure this page will grow over time as people abuse the community, but for now, here are the basic guidelines.
Leaving Comments:
There are numerous opportunities to share your comments, and the authors do want to hear from you. But as a commenter, don’t post rude, inappropriate, offensive or abusive comments. Learning2Bonsai reserves the right to remove comments and suspend community privileges of those who violate this rule.
Ask Questions:
By using this service, you acknowledge that you understand that our volunteers have varying levels of expertise and haven't been certified as "experts" (or anything else) by us in any professional way. Many of them are professionals in their own right, but Learning2Bonsai has not verified the credentials or abilities of any of our volunteers.
Karma Points:
You get karma points for different types of activities, like answering another member's question on “Ask a Question.” You can redeem your points at BonsaiOutlet.com.
To encourage participation and reward great answers the number of points you get depends on the specific action you take. The points table below summarizes the point values for different actions.

When you reach 250 points a "Redeem Points" button will appear on your profile page. You can redeem these points at BonsaiOutlet.com. 250 points is worth $10.
Responsibilities and rights
Please bear in mind that all of the material you read in our community areas comes from other members. Learning2Bonsai is a large community, and we cannot monitor all of the information posted by our members. If you see or suspect foul play, let us know. Comments, questions, and answers all have "Report Abuse" buttons which will alert an admin. Our admins will decide whether or not to remove the offending post.
Learning2Bonsai has the right to delete any post and ban any user, with or without notice, at any time and for any reason. It’s our playground. We also reserve the right to modify or change these guidelines without notice.
Privacy
We will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to any third parties. Learning2Bonsai and/or Bonsai Outlet LLC may use your membership e-mail to contact you regarding your messages in our community. We may also send you BonsaiOutlet.com related product information we think you may be interested in. You can unsubscribe to these email any time.
Usernames
Your username is public. If you select a name that we deem vulgar or obscene we'll ask you to change your username.
Profiles and signatures
It’s okay to create a signature with your profile, but don’t link to inappropriate material, include invitations to other communities, link to commerce or advertising, or use foul language.
Images
Share pictures as long as they add value to your discussions and don’t offend anyone.
Mentioning other Web sites
It’s okay to mention or discuss other websites that may be of interest to our members, as long as your intention is not to generate traffic for another website. Our links use “no follow” tags to prevent abuse from spammers trying to get links to other websites.
